What Does Daily Life With Invisalign Look Like?

Most patients are surprised less by the treatment itself and more by the daily habits it requires. Invisalign fits into normal life, but you must stay consistent with the treatment plan. 

The First Week

The very first tray causes pressure and some soreness as teeth begin to respond to the planned movement. Most patients describe this as noticeable discomfort rather than sharp pain. Over-the-counter pain relief is typically sufficient. 

You may feel some level of discomfort for 48 to 72 hours every time you change trays. 

Speech

A mild lisp is common when you first start wearing aligners. Most patients adapt within a week or two as the tongue adjusts. Patients who speak professionally, teachers, presenters, people in client-facing roles, should plan for this adjustment period rather than be caught off guard by it.

 Eating and Drinking
